Our aim is to provide a comprehensive base for a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of food, giving you the tools and insights to perform better at work or shift careers – and hopefully make you a better person along the way. You will get the chance to learn about scientific evidence, management practices and policy options to safeguard our health and Planet, while actively helping countries improve the sustainability of their food systems.

Admission criteria

No previous experience is required to participate. However, enrollment in the course requires passing an admission test which will assess the candidate’s suitability according to motivational criteria.

Certificate recorded on the blockchain

At the end of the course you will attain a certificate. Our certificates are far from ordinary. For each certificate a unique code is generated (hash). The latter gets recorded on the Hyperledger blockchain, thus becoming immutable data. Each certificate is identified by a QR code in which we will also incorporate all the course-related contents, your projects, and the information you would like to share with recruiters, relatives or friends.

The cost includes:
-  the fruition of 16 modules
- all teaching materials, including recommended readings and teaching tools
- access to EIIS Digital Campus
- exclusive access to the greatest experts in the food sector

  • exclusive access to multidisciplinary experts in the world of food

The certificate will be issued only to those who have attended at least 70% of the modules (11 out of 16).

The goal is to stimulate participants’ motivation in attending live sessions and ensure constant interaction between them and, of course, with our experts.

The certificate will be issued digitally on Blockchain (non-centralized digital system that guarantees the immutability of the certificate over time).

An associated QR Code will also be provided. This way each participant will be able to easily consult all the results obtained and the work carried out during the course (also in view of future interviews).

We do not guarantee job positions at the end of the course.

The purpose of EIIS is to create a strong sense of community, integrating the participants of this edition and those of future ones with experts and managers who will accompany you along the way.

We want to create a network of knowledge where it will be possible to have a continuous discussion over time. An underlying belief will be to unite everyone with the aim of preserving the health of people and Planet.

Throughout the whole course, participants will be tackling a crucial issue. The challenge is huge and what the greatest minds and organizations have been working on for some time: how to feed 10B by 2050 healthy food preserving the health of people and Planet. While we may not find the ultimate solution, tackling the challenge will go a long way in helping us learn about the subject matter.

By proposing ways in which single countries can improve the sustainability of their food systems, participants will be able to suggest how to promote food sustainability globally. The approach used is that of "Challenge Based Learning": a real way of life in the EIIS community. Each module through its lectures and practical exercises will provide useful insights for the challenge. At the end of the course, students will be asked to present solutions ahead of the United Nations’ Food System Summit.

I partecipanti dovranno trovare una soluzione pratica ad un problema reale che sta affrontando oggi l'oasi stessa. Le problematiche possono riguardare l'ambito della biodiversità in senso stretto o in senso lato (da un punto di vista socio-economico).

In ogni certificato troverai un QR code nel quale incorporeremo anche tutti i contenuti collegati al corso, i tuoi progetti, gli scritti e in generale tutte le informazioni che desidereresti condividere con recruiter, parenti o amici.

You will attend 16 dynamic digital modules.

Luca Di Leo (course director), Francesca Barberini (course moderator) and Sveva Ciapparoni (course coordinator), together with other leading food experts such as Massimo Bottura, Arif Husain (WFP), Danielle Nierenberg (Food Tank) and Marcela Villarreal Pouw (FAO) will accompany participants along their study path.

The lessons include a first part of in-depth analysis on the various themes of food sustainability and a final part of Q&A.

To obtain the final certificate it is necessary to attend at least 70% of the live modules (11 out of 16).

The skills acquired during the course will be useful to anyone working or wanting to work in the world of food, both in the private and public sectors.
